Additional to the frequent PiTA regen dpf light a new issue have arised. This time it's an airbag fault.
Anyone had this issue? Was just turning to reverse and I hear a light cracking noise then poof! Airbag fault light comes on. Now every time I turn the steering fully It makes that noise and fault light is still on.

Haven't had that issue but mine started throwing random globe out errors... they addressed it last service and so far so good. Interestingly, it was a "check right light" and I swapped all the globes in that light, checked connectors etc and it made no difference. VW Dealer claims they changed the park bulb to fix the issue (which I had already done myself) so they must've actually done something else as well.
Not big issues but far out this car has had its fair share of annoying little issues

Had the steering wheel off, lately?

Sounds like there's something up with the contact reel/clock spring.

No I never removed the steering. I wouldn't know where to start If I did.

If its a clock spring, is this a warranty job?if so how long does it take to fix?

How long is a piece of string?

It'll need to be correctly diagnosed, parts ordered, etc first.

          We're only speculating here.

I see you are still having issues.

I'm starting to get the distinct impression the dealership doesn't know how to properly diagnose and repair your car.

I'm wondering if a change in dealership would be beneficial...

Clock spring changed and its fine again after a software update.

so the crack noise was the original clock spring breaking (which then of course made the electrics believe bad things)?
