Hi folks

Just a quick clarification. Is the mechatronics unit part of the DSG and is it covered by the vw warranty extension of the transmission to 5 years or 150'000 km?

The mechatronics unit is the device that controls the DSG, and is directly mounted to the gearbox housing.
