3C Passats Owners / General Discussion Thread.. (anyone else welcome)
I don't think they had a VW dealer there in the late 80's did they?
Anyone ordered an R36 Passat?
I have orderered an R36 Wagon in Biscay Blue, with Sunroof and Auto Tailgate.
Still awaiting final pricing, but all up under $70k on the road (maybe even 2-3k cheaper).
My wife and I went for a drive in a 3.2 wagon on Sunday- and my wife loved it. She wasn't keen on me upgrading as she loves the GTI, but after an hour in the wagon - she is now as eager as I am.
Dealer advised that although press says September delivery - VW Aust are doing a big release at the motor show, and cars will be available after the official release (even though they may be in the country sooner).
Another long wait ahead.......
Confirmed Global Warming Sceptic. No Longer a VW Owner -Loving my new 2011 Range Rover Sport - bought as VW unable to provide info on the new Toureg despite it being released overseas 12 mths ago. 2008 R36 Wagon, 2006 GTI and 2004 R32 - Gone. Sorry VW, you make great cars but until you improve your customers' experiences you will lose customers
good luck r36 dreamer hope you don;t have to wait too long.
richdave - granite is an awesome colour, I almost bought an ex demo one in that colour with 18's, leather, sunroof and alarm bit it had done 5,000km and they wanted 52k plus on roads!!!! It sold before I even turned up to look at it.
re colour here it is from carsales, do a search on ex demo / near new, thats how I found mine, indirectly...

What do you mean by that? We might be waiting longer than September?

Steve,
I am being told expect the car after the motor show (19th October).
VW are advertising that the car will be in showrooms from the third quarter of 08, but the dealer has said the first deliveries to customers wont happen until after the motor show.
Not sure if what I am hearing is correct, but the dealer sounded very certain, despite what I told him on was written on the website.
So Frustrating - I waited 7 months for the GTI, and am now looking at another 8months!!
Went for a spin in a 3.2 wagon on Sunday (when I spoke to the dealer), and if the R32 is better than that I cannot wait.
I hope my dealer is wrong, but I am counting on October so I can be surprised if its earlier, and not pi$$ed off when it is late!!
