  • R36 tpms sensors...sources?

    G'day all,

I thought I might have a go at fitting the tpms sensors to my VMR 710 wheels...

I have 3 intact from my old wheels, but will need at least one more.

Anyone found a source of reasonably priced replacements?

      Hi Chris,

I am considering the same wheels for my R36. I spoke to the guys at BMR autowerks in Sydney and they said they could supply and fit the sensors to the wheels. Maybe they can point you in the right direction?

      Hope this helps

        Thanks Adam,

My guys said that my wheels would need to be drilled as the current sensors have a wider valve stem. Dun think they know too much about TPMS

Thanks for the tip on BMR. I'll give them a try....

        Cheers

No worries. Let me know how you go.

What colour is your R36? What finish did you get on your V710's - I am thinking Hyper Silver?

              Very nice

Are the wheels on the car yet? Would love to see what they look like on the wagon.

              Did you go 19" x 8.5"?

Sure did... 255/35 x 19 contis with just a touch of camber on the rears and no rubbing.

Pix- yes! when the car and wheels are clean....

That's good to hear about the 255/35 tyres - wasn't sure if they would rub. Do you think if you didn't have the camber they would rub?

Mine did over speed humps- so I'd say yes...

                      Hi Chris,

Have you found out anything more about fitting the TPMS sensors to the VMR wheels?

Although VMR say that they're compatible, VMR take a narrower valve that than on our existing wheels.

I managed to pick up a set of spare sensors last night and my intention is to have a go at drilling out the existing valve holes to suit the standard TPMS valves.

                        I will report back....

How did you go with the TPMS? I just received my new 19' x 8.5' VMR wheels and am about to take them for fitting on my CC.
