Dust inside MFD

Hi All,

I have a 2012 Passat V6 Wagon and I am getting an awful lot of dust inside the MFD, every day a new bit appears and it's highlighted when the sun is shining directly on the unit...

Does anyone else have this problem and is there a way to remove it?

I have the same problem. Fortunately it is really only noticeable when the sun is directly on the MFD... but then it IS noticeable & it annoys me. Not sure if there is any cure. It will no doubt get worse over time & I will be even less pleased!

Just thought I'd give an update on the dust problem.... There is now even more dust. Spoke to my dealership and they just seemed to ignore my request to look into the possibility of removing it...

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Dust inside MFD

Great news. Entire instrument cluster replaced today, old cluster had a poor seal between cases and that allowed the dust to enter. I actually ended up contacting VW customer care Aus and they drove the process for me.

Good news however such a shame that you had to go that far to get a suitable outcome.
