So far, I've spent the day getting excited that I might be able to get bluetooth audio streaming to work (so I dont need the MDI retrofit to get my iPhone audio to play) and then getting disappointed as it seems like I'm one of the few people with the "basic" bluetooth that cannot stream to an RCD 510...

Been a while since I've been in here!

Is there any upcoming Melbourne meets on the cards? I haven't played around much with mine the past few years. Wanted to drop it and put on an exhaust from the cat back but the imminent arrival of my 1st offspring surely brought a halt to those plans. Still have a laugh giving the car a bit of a workout with the baby seat in plain sight!

The only note worthy mod I have made was installing the Oettinger VW paddles. Have to say those paddles have made a massive improvement to the driving experience within the car.

The only note worthy mod I have made was installing the Oettinger VW paddles. Have to say those paddles have made a massive improvement to the driving experience within the car.

Any pics?

Are these the easy to install (stick on) kind? Can't be bothered with the whole disable-the-airbag and take-the-steering-wheel-off variety...

These aren't the stick on's. They are the real deal ones, cost me around $300 delivered from the US. Bought them a few years back from the bulk buy a few of us did from here. STP performance from memory. Installed them myself, was a bit of mucking around but I got through it. Here's a tutorial vid that sure did help

Just thought I would give a quick update on my exhaust situation. After a long search and a lot of deliberation I have decided to go with a supersprint exhaust. Yes it was a little more expensive than other systems – but after seeing and hearing one on a fellow member’s R36 I was blown away. The sound is loud enough without being annoying, the note is superb, there is no drone, and the build quality is fantastic. I have order it so just have to wait for it to come from Italy. Can’t wait to fit it to the car.

Thanks mate - I have been watching your thread on vwgolf.net.au - so you have got your R36 now? Those photos looked good. Yeh once i get the exhaust fitted I will have to get some videos done and post them for you.
