I have a DNA tune on my Golf R and it rocks, excellent bank for your buck.

My friend's B6 Passat V6 4Motion sounds louder than my R36. Now you know something is wrong when that is the case. Lol

I have heard a few with cat-back exhausts and the sound is perfect – a really great note – it almost sounds a little like a V8. I know I have had to be careful when choosing which one I will go with as some of them have been described as too loud or have drone tendencies.

I think you would have to admit when compared with the Golf R32 or R, or even cars like a BMW 335i – the R36 is noticeably quieter. My mate has a Golf R and when we take off together at the lights the R drowns out the R36.

I picked mine up a week or so ago.
        Biscay blue 08 wagon.

it is stock at the moment, but I will be liberating some noise soon.
I've been looking at springs/wheels, but the OEM setup is pretty hard to fault.

The two rear back boxes are going to be replaced with 3" stainless pipes at c-red in beckenham.
They work on my S15 track car, so I have faith in the work they do

They have suggested making it detachable via flanges so the OEM boxes can go back on if needed without too much effort.
I'll hopefully have some before/after clips to see if is an approach that could work for others.

                          Hi piggy5,
Interested in finding out what tune you had done and what differences the dsg tune makes?

                            Hi all,
Been away from this forum for a while and just saw this thread.
A few years back a few of us on here did a group order for custom cat-backs from Evolve Technik (Peter Fitzgerald) and I think I was the only wagon, the rest all sedans.
I've heard that some of the sedans have taken them off, but mine still sounds great. The rear mufflers on the wagon are slightly longer I believe and produce a meatier and deeper sound than the sedans, and doesn't drone at all.
I'm in Melbourne and happy to meet-up with people that are interested and want to have a listen.
                            Cheers,
                            Maarten
