Sat Nav mods in Brisbane Can anyone help

Would like to get my Satnav firmware upgraded as it has 2840 in it which is pretty old.

VW wont do it.

Would also like to know 2 other things.

Can the overspeed signal be altered to jump up in 1kph increments instead of 5kph.

Also can electronic speedos be adjusted to be more accurate.

My Passat is just over 3kph fast and the Polo is 7kph fast and is an absolute pain.

I realise they are both legal but coming from a Landcruiser that was spot on at 100kph it drives me mad.

Can't really adjust the speedo because it's out on purpose

i.e. in my car there are 3 different speed readings that can be had:

1. GPS - usually most accurate (you can view the GPS speed on your RNS510 via the secret menu)
2. Hidden onboard speed used for odometer, etc (usually a few kph higher than GPS) - if you set cruise control, then erase your average speed in the MFD you'll see the average speed shows what the car believes to be the correct speed (a few kph lower than what the speedo shows you). You can also see this speed via the OBD2 diagnostic port if you have a device to read from it (i.e. a cheap bluetooth adapter from eBay and the Torque app on Android).
3. The false speedo that you see on the MFD, out by a fair bit depending on your tyre size vs the max tyre size available in your range usually.

Thanks but cant view via secret menu as mine doesnt have it Hence wish to update it.
Would like to get someone who knows what they are doing to do it for me.
To fix the Polo would need illegal tyres 40mm larger diameter.
The overspeed alarm would be better with finer adjustment.

you can adjust the accuracy of speedo in vcds.

Yes I realise that but dont have any tools and limited wish to play around hence looking for someone to do it for a reasonable fee.

no. the correction factor is an adaption value that you can enter with vcds. it just makes the speedo display closer to what the car is actually doing.. the car will still know the km travelled without a problem.

You need to have it enabled first (i.e. update the firmware - links in Audio/Electronics section)

Then just hold down the Setup button for ~10 seconds. You'll see AM/FM after ~3 seconds, keep holding for another ~7 to get into the secret menu.

Not entirely correct have just updated to 3980 and it doesnt work Will do in 4020 though

Lucky you readerr0r did mine on Monday and it doesnt work Have got 4020 to install yet next week
