  • Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) - are they always on?

    Hi all,

If you have the Driver Assistance and Visibility Package option fitted to your car do the LED DRLs stay on all the time? If so would it be possible to reprogram/disable them via VAG-COM or VCDS?

Not a big fan of the DRLs, hence my question.

    Any help much appreciated.

not sure with the Vis package, but standard you can turn them off via your MFD - go into settings, select Lights and Vision and un-tick them.

yep. They are beside the fog lights. Most people think they ARE the foglights, but they're not.

So are the cornering lights the foglights then?

I have never bothered to look, they have to be one or the other....

For Passats fitted with cornering lights, activating the DRL function will also mean that the cornering lights work according to steering input as well.
Not that I can see with the B7, probably because they have dedicated DRL's that don't double as anything else.

I have the Driver package and leave them on all the time I would sooner be seen than not.

Dont know why you would want them off

In some countries like Canada they are compulsory and a good idea as well.
