  • Now What with VW

I have my 2010 R36 sedan but has VW left me nowhere to go?
I'm looking to update my car next year but there isn't really anything in the VW range to upgrade to.
After the R36 was stopped does anyone know if there will be a suitable replacement next year?
The CC is a nice car but I'd already chosen the R36 over one in 2010 so it's not really an option 3 years later
Come on VW give us a Passat R
    (preferably with a 3.0lt S/C)

Why do you need a new car? Isn't a 2010 R36 good enough?

    Not being hostile, just asking..............

Don't think it is going to happen... the basic V6 has been dropped in the UK apparently due to poor sales, same might happen in OZ, so there is not much case for a R.
Buy a V6 CC while they exist & chip it

Besides the 4Mo, and the exhaust note, there's really no appeal with the regular V6 anyways.

As above, I'd get a CC in a nice colour and wheels, work the suspension, and chip it.

As I mentioned I preferred the R36 over a CC in 2010 and the CC hasn't changed much
Oh and my R36 is Chipped already

Looks like resale on R36's aren't that good anyway so it could mean a change to a different marque

I'm also wondering the same thing. My R36 wagon is nearly four years old and although it's done fewer than 40000km I think it's time for a change.

I'm hoping like hell that there will be another Passat R-something wagon, with either the turbo 5 or the supercharged 6. Fingers are crossed that something will come along in the next 12 months - the dealer I bought my car from only knew about the R36 six months before it was delivered, so there is some hope but I'm not all that optimistic.

There's not a whole lot out there I'm interested in at the moment, though. I don't have enough $$$ for a C63 or E63 or RS6, I'm not interested in American or Australian wagons, and a regular V6 Passat wagon is much the same as what I've already got... so why bother?

              Skoda Superb V6 4Mo?

Otherwise you have to swap brands and get an Audi/BMW/Merc.

V60 with the T6 engine with their R-design upgrade (that gets an extra few KW these days from their tuning house)... or the v70 if you need the boot...

Might be worth a test drive?

                    I'm thinking maybe an A4 or A6 with the 3.0TDI (chipped to 220kw@611Nm )
                    Or possibly S4/S5
You think to keep a loyal fan base VW would at least provide a replacement for a vehicle they market

I'm pretty much in the same boat...looking to changeover my R36 wagon in 12 months time when it's 3 years old. Nothing floating my boat in the VW range @ present.

Am thinking about XF Jag or Range Rover Evoque at this stage.
