B7 Passat - Sport Pack - Vicenza Wheels - Possible Trade for Kansas Wheels?

Hello all!

I have just purchased an Icelandic Grey 125TDI Passat Wagon with the Sport Pack, picking it up in a couple of weeks.

Was wondering if anyone would be interested in swapping the Vicenza 18" wheel set that comes with the car for a set of Kansas 18" wheels from the V6? Not sure if this is in the right section, but as I'm not "buying" or "selling" the wheels, I wasn't sure if starting a thread in those sections would be appropriate. Am happy to trade these brand new for a set of brand new or near-new.

If you know anyone who might be interested in a trade, please let them know! The Vicenzas look especially good on white, silver and black cars.

FYI, this is my second VW - had a MKV 3-door GTI prior to this...bit of a change, but baby on the way necessitated the move up in size

I was in the same boat when I was placing my order in Aug 2011. I made it well known at the very start when ordering that I disliked the Vicenza 18's & I wanted the Kansas 18's instead. As it turned out I cancelled the original order as the dealer had literally done nothing with my order for 9 weeks but during that time were advising me that my car was in production when it wasn't....

Anyway talk about perfect timing & massive amounts of luck, mid Nov 2011 I went to another dealer & they had just received that week of the boat a cancelled order for a V6 wagon with Sport pack & pretty much all the same options I wanted. As my car had only delivery Km's on it (16km) & it was the V6 they happily swapped my Vicenza 18's to the Kansas 18's from a V6 sedan that had arrived of the boat at the same time as my car. They were sitting side by side in the back lot covered in the delivery white plastic so delivery km's on the wheels/tyres was very similar to mine. The dealer did mention to me that if my car had been the 125TDi they would have charged me $200 for the swap but as the change was between two V6 Passats there was no need. Interesting point but I was happy...........

Here is my V6 Wagon Sport Pack with the Kansas 18's as seen out & about at cricket earlier today.......... The Sport pack option only tints the rear windows so I had the fronts done & the match is near perfect to to rears....

I've spoken to the dealer about it, but they won't budge. They cite their reason as being "if we keep swapping wheels from car to car, we will forever be swapping"...bit of a cop out if you ask me, as the Vicenza's are actually worth more than the Kansas's, but anyway...

Anyone else interested in a swap? Don't get me wrong, I think the wheels look fantastic on my car, but I think the Kansas set looks better with dark colours. If there are any white/silver (and they look decent on black, too) owners out there willing to trade, give me a yell!

Yep, cop out alright. The dealer could swap over the wheels & advertise the other Passat highlighting the fact it has the Sport pack wheels. They should be thinking 'we should do whatever we can to sell a car' & not stuff around a customer that could be a return customer in the future....

Fortunately, my dealer accommodated my request immediately but as I wrote above mainly because it was V6 to V6 & the wheels/tyres had the same delivery KM's on them.....

Maybe try selling the Vicenza's on ebay & then get the Kansas from the dealer.... Good luck mate....

CC are the same afaik. Not sure if across range but at least the V6

Thanks. Sorry. Did you mean the sports seats in CC V6 are same as the 'non' sport seats in CCv6? Or did you means Sport Seats in v6 Wagon likely same as sport seats in CCv6?

Sorry, I meant that the seats in the CC V6 and maybe even lower models are the same as what you would get with a Passat with the sports pack.

Don't have any pics of my car in the iPad now but here is a Link to a Passat for sale in Carpoint with the Sport pack. The seats are the same in the wagon. Passat Sport seats are identical to CC seats except for stitching colour.

When I was going through the motions of buying my Vwhite 6 Sportspack Wagon (there was one specced how I wanted it on the water about to dock), I was also not so happy about the Vicenzas and wanted to swap for the Kansas but unfortunately, the dealer wouldn't come to the party without some cost. I then decided that I would get the car and then decide on swapping them for some other rims. However, now that I have seen it in the flesh and have been driving with it and living with it for the last almost 2 months, I am glad that I didn't swap them as I think the Vicenzas look much better and everyone remarks on how good the wheels look! Also, brake dust is not such an issue on the black rims.
