Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

im sorry if anything on this subject has already been written i can't find an answer so here goes....

i have a 1996 passat b4 VR6 Sedan and i want to put an exhaust system on it, its standard atm and its to quiet for my liking.......i have spoted loads of performance exhaust systems for "golf mk3 vr6", would a mk3 golf vr6 system still fit or would all the mounts be different underneath or somthing?

Also does anybody know any good places where i could get one or recomend any paticular makes that are good

any help would be greatly appreciated thank you.

Golf stuff won't fit due to longer wheelbase. You would have to check mounts and size of mkIII VR stuff then get it customed to fit. I got a quote a couple of years ago for about $200 for a catback exhaust on mine. Check out VWVortex too, pLenty of peeps seem to just delete the suitcase muffler

sorry for the slow response, thanks for the advice, i opted not to buy anything "golf" thinking that it would be diffrent due to it being a sedan and not a hatch, il look at VW vortex, still loving your old car! she now rolls on Audi RS4 wheels
