Keeping a low profile, just ONE MORE SLEEP... if sleep comes at all that is

    ---------- Post added 16-02-2012 at 01:22 PM ---------- Previous post was 15-02-2012 at 04:43 PM ----------

    OK

Mine has the monoblock HVAC... there were no alternate HVAC passats on the lot (my12.5's seem to be clustered in WA, could be that the boats take a while to get around to the east coast and then unloaded, then the drive up past the 'Gong to the Ingleburn holding yards)

Totaly forgot about the HVAC by the time the car did its first downshift throttle blip.... no time to play, dealership back to work is only a short distance...

I'm now thinking also mine could be a my12 only. But it's weird dealership has my12.5 already here when mine is 2 weeks away.

Called my dealership to have my mind at ease.
My car was built dec 2011 so they said it would be
      A MY12.5. All good!
And confirmed it should dock any day now. Can't wait!

Discharged huh....... Now begins the real wait...

You can expect another 2 weeks before you receive the key fobs.

Just saw another white with sports pack my12.5 on carsales.com.au
I'm starting to like the wheels combo on the sports pack. I was a little hesitant at first but it gives the car skittle attitude IMO.
My car is so close I can already smell the diesel lol!

My wife's new MY12.5 TSI wgon has the updated HVAC. It looks better but isn't as good as the system in my golf or in her old Octavia (same system as in passat up to MY12). The old system allows for 2 different levels on the Auto setting but the new system only one. My initial impression is that the single Auto setting results in a ridiculously high fan speed and you then have to turn it down manually losing the benefit of the Auto facility. Progess? Not sure. Style over substance maybe.

i could never quite understand the 2 auto lights on the button. could never be bothered in RTFM to find out....
More opportunites have been lost from indecision, rather than wrong decision....

You need the fix detailed on another thread here (can't remember where I put it now). But if you want to test it first, just cover the sensor on top of the dash board. After about 20/30 seconds, the fans should turn down to a more normal level (but will still adjust automatically).

What abt putting a tinted tape on top of the sensor or that part of the windshield??

Anyways loving the Alaskan climate this issue might work in
                        My favor

Thanks for trying to cheer me up... I really had set my heart on the new style... any justification for why the monobloc HVAC is better helps sooth my sensibilities ... I am strictly a one block (out of two) kinda guy... Have to say this (on ONE block) is the best climate control I have owned ... on two blocks it is mental, end up getting to work looking quite windswept...

                              LED number plate lights.

Back to over zealous climate control. Has anyone had the solar sensor on the dash top replace successfully?

Yep, previously LED rear number plate lights only came with the sport pack but are now standard on all for MY12.5 Passats but only for the wagon not sedan......
