  • Anyone thinking of a B7 Sports Pack, can now visualise it!!

    Hi All

Due to the Passat forum, I was one of the first persons to order a Sports Pack when I tripped over the thread started by Maverick.

I had to viasualise the wheels (which I have grown to like) but I have never been able to get a picture or render a fair representation of what my car is going to look like... The local VW Aust website has an option pack page on the passat that is not enabled, one would think this is where the sports pack will end up.

Until now... I tripped over this

Volkswagen Passat Exclusive has been announced

which is a german DM only spec .... but this spec has been issued with the Vicenza wheel also... A quick jump to the German wbsite and the Konfigurator...

Volkswagen Deutschland The "exclusive" is already there!

Pick my colour, chuck on the sunroof... viola I can finally see what my car will look like with THOSE WHEELS! shame I can't get to hosting web pages from work so I can post it up! I'll see what I can do when I get home...

Pity we dont get the 15mm lower ride hight on our sports pack....

I spent some hours accumulating all the info & pics I have over recent months so here are a few of them to look at. Some video's are also available on Youtube...

The 3rd last interior pic show the Sport seats, the 2nd last pic is all three interiors available in Australia, standard 118TSi, Highline 125TDI & V6, Highline Sport TDi & V6. Notice how nicely sculptured the Sport pack seats are, especially the rear.... The last pic is my car though I am still considering changing the wheels to the V6's Kansas 18's....

Can't wait for my Passat to arrive with the Sport pack.........

      Nice! Wheels look great mate.

I'm more jealous about the silver "exclusive" floor/door trim... Really not digging the light blue Passat trim on the standard TDI. It's the only part of the car i don't like, everything else is sweet as.

Hm, wonder if i can buy the trim only.

I must say that it looks very nice! Side on, it almost has a Volvo V50 (which I think looks quite nice) look from side on with the slightly shorter looking overhangs compared to the previous Passats. It may not have shorter overhangs, but it looks that way.

The photo that is dead side on looks like it has been taken through a somewhat fish eyed lens, those overhangs do look more compressed than reality... still... i think it looks fantastic... but then again I have over 50k of skin in the game

I'm really liking those wheels, and the wagon just looks sensational in white!

Seats look the shizz, are they still nappa leather? Any idea how much the sports pack will cost in AU?

Just ordered a 125Tdi Highline Wagon in candy white with sports pack as a replacement when my current lease runs out in May.

Great thread, really helped me with the decision to add sports pack and select colour. Was initially thinking of a dark colour like my last few cars, but went for white after seeing the pics and checking out the Konfigurator on the VW Germany site.

Just out of interest are the Sports Pack seats the same as the front seats fitted in the Passat CC. They look the same in the photos I've seen, but when I asked at the dealers they were not sure?

                      Cheers
                      John

Yep, same seats as the Passat CC. Only difference being the CC's seats have a light grey stitch colour on the front of the seats, the stitching on the Passat s/seats is same colour as the leather. The front headrest design is also different between the Passat & CC.

Seems like Candy White could be the new black! (maybe!)

                          Congratulations!

I have never been able to work out why there is nothing in VWA's literature or website on the Sports... go figure, this is my first experience with VWA and it hasn't been a smooth tango...no info... leaving the dealers in the dark... throwing six darts at the board to give me dates...

O well, with the lack of info (unless it has changed in the last month or so)... less Sports out there, more unique us!

                            Thanks for the replies.

The seats in the CC were nice, so reassuring to know that's pretty much what I ordered!

I can understand the dealers not stocking an example of every option (it's a pretty long list), but I'd expect VWA to educate their dealers on what's available, particularly when buyers are throwing down $2000 plus on some of the option packs.

I agree completely. On Saturday my wife and I test drove a 125TDI Wagon as a potential option for her next car (surprise, surprise - she loved it).

The dealer informed us that VWA had just started a drive-away pricing promotion on VW Diesels. We said great but we would like the Sports Pack option to which he said there was no such thing! He then spoke to three other salesmen who also didn't know of the package!

We showed the dealer the brochure and then they pulled out their price list which also showed the Sports Pack option. We hung around while they call some associate dealers but that seemed to draw blanks too. They were going to get back to us but it is now Monday night and we are still awaiting a call.
