        Hey John,

My colleague drives an R36 and have called him this morning regarding getting a chip.
Just so you know his car is stock standard, never had a thing done to it and he knows nothing about tuning as far as I know, so you will need to explain to him the basics.

I gave him your number he said he will give you a call this afternoon. Name's Steve.

Yes we do a simple loan equipment based system for interstate upgrades. Simple plug and play process. If interested feel free to send me an email, cheers.

            Hi all

I've just had my Passat 3.2 re flashed using the loan equipment and can vouch for it. On the 3.2 it has made definite improvement. Acceleration is cleaner and smoother through the rev range especially low down with the flat spot at about 2000-2500 having disappeared. Fuel use is slightly down as well which is a bit of a bonus. All in all not a masive increase as expected for a NA car but very noticeable. Well worth the money.

Would be interested to see some proof of gains, i.e. single session dyno (run/flash/run). Sounds like an interesting proposal though.

John had a go at my car yesterday and I'd like to add my thumbs up for his professionalism. Everything happened efficiently and with a minimum of fuss. He's logged the data from my car and has flagged that he may like to load a revision once the data has been analysed.

Initial impressions via the butt dyno are a better top end and it's a little smoother at idle. You do notice the extra torque in the mid range but low down, it feels pretty much the same.

Cruising economy on a 200km run today was about 9.3L/100 via MFD and it seems to be much the same around town, but these are early days.

I'll update the thread with any further observations in a few weeks.

Thanks for the info as I am thinking of getting mine done at some time.

                        Hi John,

Have you done a Passat CC with 3.6L and 4motion yet,

I have been looking for a while, but have not been able to find anyone in Aus.

Happy for my car to be a mule as long as you can reverse if not 100% happy

These cars are difficult to extract much out of, hence my comment about wanting to see 'proof'. I had a reputable tuner try on mine, and we did it on the dyno - run first, flash, rerun. End result - a tiny (and I mean tiny) mid range increase, and less top end power (yes I said less). I left it in, took it out for a drive, and noticed even less difference than the dyno showed, so it came back off and went to standard.

So I am wary of people promising gains that are not independently verified. Especially when they are asking a good chunk of my hard earned to do it.

                          ST.

Swallowtail is right on the money here; there is not a whole lot of peak power/torque to be gained from a tune, but it is worth extracting nonetheless.

We have found an area in the stock tuning that has been a noticeably significant factor in limiting the performance of the engine; exact details I do not wish to disclose until I am happy with the results.

DNA Tuning UK have been working on the 3.6L variants in recent months with good results; these improvements have also been carried over to the Passat 3.2 tunes, of which I have had great results tuning as well.

So, please sit tight, Chris (2muchcoffeeman) has been very kind to provide his car as a test-bench for our Aussie R36 tune; soon enough his car will be on the dyno for some before and after runs to show what we can achieve from this engine.

For what it's worth, I don't think my planned release price of $730 is too dear for a quality tune, so once the results are available, I encourage people to assess whether or not the gains are worth the price and to make your own mind up about it.

Bakappoi; I would be keen to see if we can get the same gains out of the CC variant. I will contact you in the next couple of weeks when I am ready to trial your car.

Good to hear John, and I agree the price is good if you genuinely achieve the gain. Please keep us all updated, and consider me interested in Brisbane subject to seeing the results...
