  • Arqray or Supersprint exhaust

Guys, I need some help in choosing which exhaust is best for my R36? Arqray or Supersptint. Both look very good but would like some feedback from anyone who has used any of these.

Here are the links to the two exhausts:

    Arqray - http://www.arqray.jp/pages/newitems/2009/090701.html
    Supersprint - Best Exhaust - Supersprint: VW PASSAT 4-Motion R36 Cat-Back

Looking for something that will give the R36 a deeper sound.

a friend had the arquay, it sounded nice, but in the end he found it way too loud when he went to work in the early AM he used to wake his family, so the exhaust was removed.

if you dont mind the extra sound then I think its pretty nice.

Does anyone know what a arqray system is worth fitted? I know that the Supersprint is $3550 plus fitting.

Supersprint exhausts are nice things. I had one on MK1 GTI years ago. They have a heap of options for deleting silencers and stuff. Most will fit to the standard exhaust, so you could just buy the rear box if you want the sound and not maximum performance.

Supersprint aren't noted for being massively loud, unless you get the race systems.

They are standard diameter pipes too IIRC.

That Arquay looks like a tidy piece of work though.

There's some clown next door to us that gets up at 6 and leaves the car running on the drive for 5 minutes before driving off. The windows rattle in my bedroom. Totally ticks me off.

I'm also interested in the cost of an Arqray exhaust for the R36. I don't have any neighbours to worry about... but after three years I'm getting a little bored with the sound

Youtube quality vids dont really help make the decision, any good quality vids of cars driving not sitting still revving for reference?

The arquay in titaniuim would probably be my choice based on what I've heard and knowing I prefer the sound of Ti systems.

I'd thought about fitting a couple of Varex mufflers or a free flow type to give a bit more note without the droning

IMO Ti systems don't drone as much as SS, and sound better. Could just be muffler difference though with the drone, but Ti sounds different. Varex systems are heavy and I don't like the idea of having to switch back and forth but that's just me. I'd prefer something with more note than the stock system, but not too loud, being 1700+ kg and only 300hp it's more luxury than sporty as far as cars go. I have a sports car for performance, personally I want the R36 to remain pretty quiet but there's nothing I can find so far that's suitable. Seems the OP wants something louder.

                      I hear ya R36FTW
I want just a little bit more note as I rarely use the performance anyway in the daily grind.
When I want to go fast i take the car cover off my R33 GTR

Nice, when I feel inclined I dust off my Evo I wonder what either of those 2 exhausts would sound like if the stock cat was retained? On a turbo car it damps the sound a bit even with a 3" on it; you get more sound with a high flow cat. Apparently the VR6 drones so much many go back to stock after trying aftermarket systems.

Euro exhausts sell Arqray at a very competitive price. Has anyone bought anything from Wal at Euro Exhausts. Had a chat with him and he seems like a nice bloke.
