Engine Number Location Passat 3C 147TSI

Well folks, as a VW fan and someone who lurked around this forum for sometime due to owning a Passat Wagon and previously also owning a Golf R32 I am seeking advice from fellow members on the engine number location on a Passat.

This due to attempting to register my vehicle in NSW (BlueSlip) and being rejected because the engine number could not be located on the engine block.

I rang the VW dealer service department to no avail.

Anybody know the approximate location of engine numbers on a Passat 3C 147TSI (MY200, my engine number starts with CAW######.

Any assistance appreciated

On most engines it is on like a bar code a sticker on the cam cover.

Thanks Bora, however the engine number needs to be sighted on the engine block.

This due to attempting to register my vehicle in NSW (BlueSlip) and being rejected because the engine number could not be located on the engine block.
