R36 Alignment settings

Just had a wheel alignment done on the R36 as the front tyres were showing signs of uneven wear on the outside. The steering specialist set the front to toe in 3mm. On my other cars I have always run a slight toe out mainly for better turn in, just curious what other R36 owners are running in regards to toe and the affect it has on turn in and tyre wear. I'm thinking of having it set to zero but am concerned with tyre wear and high speed stability.

I used to run 0mm Toe, and found the inside edges of my front tyres were worn to an illegal point by about 12,000km without rotating due to the fronts being hard set at 1 degree negative camber.

Now am running 3mm Toe in, and my tyres have thus far lasted 20,000km without a rotation. I'd say they still have another 10,000km's in them.
I can't say that I've noticed a change in stability at any speed, and I haven't noticed any effects with cornering either.

On that note I think I will be leaving it with the 3 mm toe in. I guess the wear on the outside may have been due to low tyre pressure, recently changed it from 36 to 39 PSI. thanks for your input.

FYI, I've been running 42 front 41 rear. I raise them by 2 psi when fully loaded or am going on a spirited drive.

I try to stay away from tyre shops when it comes to wheel alignment, find yourself a proper Steering Specialist.

I definitely need to get one done on mine as its pulling a bit to the right since I got it.. i thought maybe they could have done it one my first service hence why i left it till now. Does VW do them? Or am I better off going somewhere else?

Hi guys first post here. Isn't 3mm toe in excessive? I run 1mm toe in on my Evo on the fronts, 0mm toe rear. Negative camber from what I understand doesn't affect tread wear anywhere near as much as toe, as its just rotating on the inside part of the tread area, vs excessive toe causes constant scrubbing across the road surface. That's what us Evo guys have found anyway, some guys run huge camber and experience very good tyre life if the toe is set close to neutral.
