Is it possible to make the rear fog light another reverse light? I hate the set up as it is and would rather another reverse light.

I have done that on the Golf platform and it is excellent for reversing, especially when you pull the diffusers on the lenses. WAY brighter.

Im going to try this mod on Saturday when my mechanic installs the springs.

ill use his VAG COM to give it a crack

Very interested in this, might give it a try this week.

only problem is that the "other" reverse light on the right, used for fog now I think, is got a red lense, unlike the one shown in the USA link.

Does that mean when reversing, it'll be one white (left) and one red (right)?

donut mod has nothing to do with the reverse light.

That is an optional mod.

NA cars come with 2 reverse and Euro's come with one which ours are the same as the Euro's

Which means that we would have to import a rear light cluster from the USA, or can the individual lens be replaced?

Ours are the Euro lights so there is no modding to be done just need to plug in VAG COM!

Success! for the donuts anyway, couldn't figure out the reverse light setting Greg was talking about.

Though not following the instruction on the first page. I found that with OZ Passats (my car) it's the following (from a later post)

09-Cent Elect

CODING-07

LONG CODING HELPER

BYTE 09 (Center of Tails).

Normal = HEX 0A.

Set BYTE 09 to HEX 00

(to set the byte I copied the whole string in coding-07 dialog and pasted into new value with byte 09 changed.)

DO IT!

I'm a bit concerned though as reply #94 on page 3, network crasher posted that after this mod, his Euro lights both went dead after 6 months. I not sure if it has to do with this mod or his lights but I wouldn't think that turning the center OFF will shorten the life of the LED light. If anything, it should increases the life, no? mmmm
