[B][I][B][B]Have been a (mostly) satisfied Outback driver for many years but am drawn to purchasing a 2008 + Passat -103 or 125 TDI- preferably with DSG. After reading many of the threads etc in relation to the issues with injectors ( mostly) at or near the end of warranty period, am questioning the wisdom of this despite the other obvious attractions of the marque- e.g build quality etc. Given the expense of injector replacement etc there would appear 4 options to consider when buying (a) purchase extended warranty - a hefty add on in itself (b) bite the bullet and go cold turkey in the hope that you might be one of the lucky ones (c) buy a petrol variant or (d) stay with the Suby.
Any words of comfort/wisdom out there - also have the Tiguans suffered similar issues with the TDI's. I'd appreciate any comment as although never having owned a VW watercooled or otherwise I've always had a bit of a soft spot for them- despite them now having risen a notch or two above what was once the peoples wagon.
