Has anyone had any issues like this with there 2006 passat????
Our 2006 Passat wagon 2.0l turbo petrol started getting hard to start a month ago taking a few goes to get it to run, This progressively got worse and then it cut out completely whilst driving, everything shut down and it slowly came to a stop.
I booked it into West Orange Motors in Orange to have a diagnosis carried out and the fault codes noted to see what the issue was.
They replaced the air filter, spark plugs, and the oil filler cap... They refused to tell me the faults codes when i asked for a copy and said they are the property of VW Australia and that we can try replacing the ignition key and the ignition barrel but we dont know if that will fix it.. Upon checking the car i popped the hood to see the induction hosing missing and no air filter at all. The car had been test driven aswell using a half of a tank o petrol.
Needless to say i was very disappointed with the service and quality control... So i took the car to sydney to a trusted mechanic who dianosed the problem being the steering rack and control module. With the rolling code system for the immobiliser he cannot fix this himself so it is booked into five dock Volkswagon.
On vortex their is a massive thread relating to this issue calling for Volkswagon to replace it as a recall.
Has anyone in Austrailia had this issue... If so please tell us your experience in regard to this
