  • Need New Tyres for my R36

    Hi Folks,

I have done 46k's in my R36 and the front left hand tyre is cactus, worn on the inside and the others are on their way out, they are OEM Dunlop Sports,

VW tell me they are no longer made, can I have some recommendations please...looking for good grip, reasonable wearing and a quiet ride...no track work for me,

It goes into Barlowrold next week for its 45k service,

    Thanks in advance

    Cheers Andrew...

I did a lot of research, ended up going with Sumitomo ZRIII.

        replaced at 25k.

Coming up close to 50k on the odometer. The tyres still have 40% tread. They are quieter, cheaper and better wearing than the Dunlops.

In terms of grip I have had no problems.

I recommend these tyre to everyone. My mate put a set on his Mazda Rx8 and has the same opinion, they are a quality tyre.
Confirmed Global Warming Sceptic. No Longer a VW Owner -Loving my new 2011 Range Rover Sport - bought as VW unable to provide info on the new Toureg despite it being released overseas 12 mths ago. 2008 R36 Wagon, 2006 GTI and 2004 R32 - Gone. Sorry VW, you make great cars but until you improve your customers' experiences you will lose customers

I got Michelin PS3s on my 2.0T (on 235/40/18 - is it same as R36?)
          cost 275 each
just done a road trip from brissy to TAS and around and back
lots of grip - more than the occupants could handle!
