Low Oil Pressure - 3C / B6

Hi all, Happy new year etc

Went on a weeks holidays and got home to this:

Turned on the Passat, very high idle. waited 2mins and then reversed out of the driveway and proceeded to go on my way.

After 100m, MFD pipes up : STOP Oil Pressure, please refer handbook.

Turned of car and started again.

200m same thing. Checked oil level, all good. Turned on car and drove home.

Called VW Assist, they sent over the NRMA

NRMA checked basics and recommeded a tow to VW.

VW checked over (Computer / Oil pressure test etc) and confirmed that all was ok.

No warnings for the rest of the day / evening

This morning, turned on car, again very high idle, let sit for min or so, then proceeded.

After 400m. same warning again. Turned off car and restarted. no further warning.

Question: Has anyone experienced this before on their Passat? Mines a 3.2 V6 FSI

How many km's have you done? How old is oil in the sump?
How often do you change the engine oil?
How long are your daily trips?

If you're close to the oil change, drain the oil, see what it likes, I would do UOA (used oil analysis), just to be sure.

Car was serviced at 60k, now on 63. Oil change was done Sept 10

My daily trips can be 50-100k's

Car was in garage for one week and prior to this was used everyday.

How many km's have you done? How old is oil in the sump?
How often do you change the engine oil?
How long are your daily trips?

If you're close to the oil change, drain the oil, see what it likes, I would do UOA (used oil analysis), just to be sure.
