Loving the R36 only thing is that the manual provided doesnt give all the information i need:

How do you inflate bolsters on the seats?

Can you scan a CD/DVD and store it on the hard drive? if yes how do you do this?

Can you close the auto tailgate with the remote key?

Is there a function like on the Golf/Jetta's where the rain sensor is used to close the windows if it starts to rain?

I've found the same thing. Thank goodness for VWWC.

There is a toggle button on the side of the seat, if you look at the memory buttons, and move towards the back of the car, you should see the button for it. It's not labelled though.

Have you got the RNS510 (satnav)? Or the RCD510 (non-satnav touchscreen, which comes standard with the car)?

BTW when i turn off esp is it normal for it to flash while its off?

You can only store mp3's on the HDD in the RNS - it won't convert audio CD's into mp3 or whatever to store. I'm pretty sure its in the manual how to transfer stuff across, but basically store whatever MP3's you want to transfer in a folder called Music on the SD card, put in the RNS, select it via the media button, go up the folder tree until you find the Music folder you created, press the button next to it, and a pop up menu should come up - press Copy - and it will ask you where you want to copy the folder to.

can't close the tailgate with the key - its a safety feature so you don't close it on someone that you can't see if you're standing in the front of the car for example.

rain sensor to close windows when it starts to rain I think has to be enabled by VAG-COM (or at least it does in my MY09 - MY10's may be different)

yep, you can, but IIRC the transfer rate from CD is a lot slower than from the SD card.

EDIT: confirmed - found a CD with MP3's on it and started copying it to the HDD - transfer rate is easily twice or even 3 times as slow as transfering it via SD card.

Correct, easy to do and works a treat. My favourite R36 VAGCOM mod.

I probably wouldn't have spotted that if one of the dealers hadn't pointed it out to me while I was shopping.

Some other cool stuff I've discovered:

                    - The parking brake automatically disengages if you try to take off with it still on.
                    - The backlight behind the dials and the MFD adjusts its brightness automatically during the day.
                    - The seat and mirror positions can be linked to each key individually. It's a bit freaky watching the seats move themselves when you open the door.
