Posted recently the blue motion Passat in Europe is achieving a factory figure of 1600km out of a tank of fuel.
Will be interesting to see what these new Golf blue motions are capable of.

The cost of low rolling resistance tyres are double the standard tyres from memory, they also provide less grip in situations when you need it.
When you consider how much longer it would take them to get to their location (Every 200km you would have driven an extra hour at the blue-motions speed) it really isn't worth it.
Say you drive 600km on a highway at 100km, you end up getting there almost 3 hours earlier which at an average wage would put you at about $60-80 in salary which would pay for the extra fuel and then some.
Plus the bluemotions generally cost a premium over the stock diesel's (which here cost a premium over the petrol models)
You have to ask is it really worth it just for highway milage.....
No doubt it is a great advertising feat for them and hopefully we will see a further reduction in economy figures as this technology is integrated into other prodction cars but i don't see the point in it currently (same goes for a prius or other hybrid)Comment
