Picking up our R36 Wagon this weekend

Can't wait, we are taking delivery of our MY10.5 R36 Wagon (see sig for specs) this weekend. As I have handled most of the negotiations (having more time during the week than my husband), he's offered me first drive

The only downside will be saying goodbye to our old Passat - it's been a good car

MY10.5 is a car built in the first half of 2011.
Generally these will have updates relevant to MY10 cars but may include additional updates that are made mid MY i.e. engine updates, mfd data display etc.

I believe this nomenclature comes about due to the Mk5 Golf having a few revisions in their mid MY years.

Do you mean the first half of the 2010/2011 financial year?

I know that the climatronic panel was changed from the older 3-dial controls to the newer two-dial one at some point. Was that one of the MY10->MY10.5 changes, or was that a MY09->MY10 changes?

Pickup now Monday, assuming paperwork sent via Express Post yesterday arrives today (crossing fingers).

I am assuming our new car is a MY10.5 as it is supposed to be latest version. Build date June 2010 (not sure how that fits in with the financial year theory above?). The only differences I am aware of between MY10 and MY10.5 are that in MY10.5 the MDI interface is standard instead of an option at additional cost, and the windows are dark-tinted rear side windows and rear window. There may be other differences. I queried the quote the dealer sent me which listed the MDI separately, to make sure we were getting the latest model and he assured me we are and advised the build date.

A comparison of the models as listed on Car Prices - Search Car Prices & Values Online - Red Book lists the only differences between MY10 and MY10.5 being the ones I mentioned above.

Hi my R36 was built in Feb 10 and this was the first month that cars were built with the tints and the interface.

Enjoy the ride, the competiton has no idea how fast you can be.

excellent to hear you only have a few sleeps left until the r36 , I'm considering one as well but instead of the MY10.5 i was more into looking at the MY10.5.5 - which is not only but in the first half of the calender year as oppose to the financial year ( tax ) being the 10.5 , instead of just the 10 or 11 but the 10.5 ,,, the MY10.5.5 which is made in may hence the .5 added to the 10.5 , it would be a .6 if in June but May seems to a better month would you all agree ?? .

My V6 wagon was built Nov 09, it was complied Feb 10 and it is a MY 10.5, the MY10.5 cars arrived in dealerships in february 2010.

The R36 gained the tint, MDI and updated Climate control with the MY10.5 update, no steering wheel update.

The V6 Highlines gained 18 inch alloys, Sports suspension, electric memory seats and the new steering wheel and climate control.
