Is it just me or the stock Audio system on B6 Passat piece of crap?
if it is crap is it the head unit that's the source of problem or the Speaker?
or both?
Try changing your sound settings in the Menu? It can't be that bad... mine sounds great...
Yeah I did
I mean it's got decent bass and treble but it's really missing middle and imaging is just not there...
I shouldn't compare it to my Accusound hometheater system but I was expecting little more.
Hi,
Mines more than crap as the tuner section is playing up.Jumps stations, doesn't tune or locks on to one station, and then no reception. Cd is fine any ideas?
make sure acoustic feedback is set to off.
I did some tests yesterday.
Comparing the same track on USB (MP3 320kbps) vs CD, I was hardpressed to tell the difference, and certainly wouldn't under normal driving conditions.
Comparing the same track on my phone played via AUX and BT there was a huge difference, AUX was bassy and dull, BT was brittle and thin. unfortunately there are 2 variables here - the hardwired vs wireless transmission, and the phone's tone settings and DAC vs the DAC in the head unit. Personally I will stick to USB which sounds much better. (My phone is windows mobile 7 with Zune by the way).
Other things I noticed, I get track and artist info on USB but not BT or AUX. This may be due to my phone's OS and Zune, not sure if an Ipod would be more compatible regarding data display.
