  • How much is service cost with low milage (15,000k) after two years?

I had my 125TDI for nearly two years with pretty low milage. When I brought it in for service last year (ie after 12 months), it did around 7500k then. Now after another 12months, it prompts me for another service in two weeks. The milage is now around 15,000k.

In this case, should I expect a similar cost as the 15,000k service that was discussed in other threads? If not, how much should I expect to pay in this case?

    Thanks

It will cost you the same as it would if you had 30,000kms.

Most if not all the items in the service are time and/or distance based. The oil has to be changed at 12 months OR 15,000kms whichever comes first for example. The brake fluid has to be changed at 24 months but the distance doesn't really come into play here as it's replaced because over time it absorbs moisture.

In Brisbane at Highway Auto you'd be looking at ~$480 but in Melbourne from what I've seen you should allow ~$600.

My 30,000km service was done in Melbourne for about $280. The real sting was at the 60,000.... Admittedly the time based fluid replacement (coolant, brakes) didn't need to be done then.

Also brake fluid absorbs air, which is compressible and leads to the fluid in the lines compressing, rather than pushing the pads onto the rotors.
