Congrats R34 that looks very nice in white (actually don't know if its the photos but probably the nicest R36 I have seen!)

I agree with your comments about adaptive chassis control, though I have the 3.6 Passat CC which is a slightly different car. However, I love the ability to control handling on the fly.

BTW, I had to laugh at your comments about your daughter's thinking the R36 is a nanna's car. You are one cool dude with the new R36!

My wife thought the same thing when I said to her that I had decided on a Passat - the only ones she had seen were gold coloured ones driven by 80 year olds fumbling around Southland looking for a carpark. Then she had a go of the R36 and decided it definately wasnt a Grandpa car!

How much dust do these brakes leave

Tried out the stereo running off the ipod...awesome sound. Can't imagine why I'd bother with DynAudio so I'm glad I took the dealers advice

It's one of the side affects of having awesome stopping power. I remove the wheels and completely clean them then wax them... That helps.

Hahahaha! I COMPLETELY agree with you on that one but careful saying stuff like that around the lads with the Dynaudio option. They're forever singing its praises and justifying the huge expense for it. If you want to spend that much on sound, there are much better after market options imo.

Dirty wheels, yea the plague of modern cars lol.

The stock oem stereos in the Passats/CC are pretty awesome but I wouldn't write off the DynAudio.

I love my music and am glad I picked the Dynaudio on my car. I recently compared a non-Dynaudio equipped CC (loan car whilst getting an oil change) with my own Dynaudio equipped car.

I agree that the stock unit sounds quite nice and is more than adequate for radio listening. It sounded nice with FM music too.

However, at mid to higher levels, I could definitely perceive that the stocker sounded muddier than my DynAudio which is incredibly crisp even at very high levels. The DynAudio feels like it cranks about twice as loud too (not that you would want to do that!) Bass is very impressive in the stocker, but it is noticeably better in the DynAudio yet again!

In short, I felt that the DynAudio is cleaner, crisper, louder and er, more dynamic. Sorry, but its the audiophile's choice!

Yes I'm sure the DynAudio is great for those who use and appreciate it and I'm certainly not going to knock anyone who has it.
When I'm driving I'm into just that...driving and like the radio on for some background noise.
I've got $15k+ audio gear in my home theatre and use that for when I'm into music
While I can do two things at once I can only appreciate one of them at a time

I often mute the music in the car - so I can focus entirely on the driving experience. I have said it before and I'll say it again, each to their own.

I have a nice set up at home but never have time to use it! I only get "me" time in the car lol, hence why I want a decent sound system in the car.

Having said that, there are times when I too turn the stereo off. Funnily enough - I must be getting old - its not to enjoy the 3.6L growl but usually its to enjoy the quiet and serenity of the CC!

I think the nice thing with the R36 (and the CC36) is that you can choose how you enjoy it to suit your mood!

BTW R34, did you get any options on your car?

                    Yes I did.
Basically DynAudio is the only option box I didn't tick

I wonder there was an option to not get the sunroof but still get CW as the colour....

No...for some reason if you order Candy White with the R36 you have to have a sunroof.

Yep seems like you got all the toys!

The RNS510 is a really fine bit of kit, though the standard audio unit has SD card slot, having all your tunes on that 30gb drive sure is handy! It was the other big difference between my CC and the loan CC that I had. The RNS510 really is miles ahead of the stocker, though once again a pricey option.

I haven't loaded anything into the hard drive yet.(or even downloaded the V3 sat nav disc I was given)
Must admit I don't see the point with a 80Gb Ipod though ..Too many toys for this old bloke
