  • New buyer, any advice?

    gday
    i'm about to commit to buying a new passat tdi, any advice on what extras etc i should be asking dealer to include in package? would like to hear others buying experiances..

    I would get floor mats, MDI and window tint thrown in if you can.
    Metallic paint could also be thrown in as it's cheaper on passenger cars ($500)
    Reverse camera is a good option to get as it will be of more use than almost any other option.

      LOL, how about a free car... amazing how everyone always thinks that there is a HUGE margin in these cars. You be surprised if you knew how little the dealerships make out of these.

        I wasn't saying to ask for all of them.
        They are the cheapest options and hence one or 2 are the most likely to be "thrown in" as part of the bargaining.

          I would read the Bluetooth thread very carefully. You can get the dealer $2000 option for 1/4 of the price if you do not mind some DIY work.

            don't waste your money on their bluetooth - it is rubbish and the aftermarket units are probably as good but much cheaper.
            had a passat tdi. now mb c class.

              Forget all of it and get either Leather thrown in if you can or a sunroof.

                depending on which type u get (eg highline if applicable) floor mats are included...so start working on the others...

                  agree...for under a grand you can get the kufatec unit installed and it fully integrates...u gota have rocks in your head to pay $2k for a bluetooth!!! Just my opinion....

                    comes standard with leather... going with black
                    gone with park assist and RVC Plus, adaptive cruise control with front assist, Bi-xenon headlights, electric seats with memory, Media device interface, 18" chicago wheels, auto tailgate, pearl effect paint, mats, mud flaps.
                    I dont think i trust thge dealer with tint, i'll sort that myself....
                    looking forward to getting in this one.....

                      Its not up to the buyer to worry about Dealership margins. The buyers job is to get the best deal possible which is what the OP is trying to do.
