Help......Wheel Specs Advice for Passat R36!

Hi Members,

Need a bit of help as I've never had aftermarket wheels but know someone who is trying to sell a set of quality Advan Lightweight wheels. If size is right I may make an offer.

The advertised is SIZE: 18X7.5, HOLE: 5, PCD: 114.3, OFFSET: +48 (225/40).

I know R36s have the size of 235/40 18inch but will the above fit with the brake pads and not stick out of the arches???

As you can see I'm a real newbie!! All the help would be appreciated!

Sorry Ray they are a Nissan fittment
You will need wheels off a VW ,Audi etc Merc will bolt on too but depends on offset
Your wheels are
18X8.5, HOLE: 5, PCD: 112, OFFSET: +44

Actually the standard fitment for the R36 is 18x8 ET44.

And on the end of that reply, will 18x8.5 work anyway?, What offset would you need to compensate? I've always thought that slightly chunkier wheels would look good.

The wheels I'm getting are 19x8.5 ET38
Basically they will sit out 12mm further on the outside lip and the same on the inside.
VMR's have a 8.5 ET35 which is OK as well

Yes, I went with 19x8.5 ET35 DPEs. I believe 35 is abt the lowest you can go.
