Hey Rocket, from my personal experience it has always been more worthwhile selling privately than trading in. I have gotten at least $4k to $8k more selling privately with the purchaser receiving similar savings. Yes there are disadvantages (eg less convenience) but worthwhile if patient. Rocket your price is great, should advertise on carsales "R36 owned by the famous Rocket....". Hope u keep in touch with us when u go Europe. Site may get a tad boring if u don't lol. BTW the C63 is an awesome car but I bet that u will appreciate how good the R36 was when u get one! (eg hate the C class dash and GPS).

Oh to be able to afford to be "very last year". I think I could stand the embarrassment of not being all that up to date if the guys from City Performance find this thing too "last year" and want to hide their shame in my garage.

You know you are getting old when you cancel your order for a 3.6 CC and buy an Icelandic Gray TDI CC instead.

pre post script: this kinda turned into a vw passat vs merc c comparision

leagle i wont disagree the c class dash is underdone- but i also reckon the passat dash could be way better. (really ****ty glove box plastics for example). Now ive had my c320cdi for a year i was talking to the salesman and i told him the passat GPS is so much better with the touchscreen. then he asked was i using the lingatronic voice control? well i had not so spent the last week actually getting to know & use it. guess what? it actually works very well so now i would rate the vw and merc gps on a par- each has slight advantages.

                Pro Merc:
linguatronics integrates all nav and telephone functions ( address book can be shared-cool)
Dash layout with speed in center is superior ( IMHO)
                RWD handling

                Pro VW
                Value, Value, Value & features.
                touch screen Nav
                outrageously good economy ( tdi)

Conclusion? the merc is better but you do pay for the priveledge and its probably not worth the extra.

Note: the latest C class 220CDi is a 2.15 twin turbo and has the same power and torq figures as vw 125tdi but wider spread of power and torq. i have the 3l v6 turbo diesel.

Well hooray for being "so last year". Just uploaded these taken today when I picked her up before I go and sit down with the relos for dinner (it's nearly 7pm here). I smiled the whole nearly 2hr international drive back!

Shame the colour is a little bland, these ones really suit the dark colours.

                            Any plans for it?

looks just like my "last year" 320cdi ( inside especially) except they put the steering wheel on the wrong side. plus you got extra stuff like cylinders and pipes and power ( and a fuel bill to match).

rocket make sure you go into lingatronic and individualize it to recognize your voice and also learn the commands. Well worth it - don't wait 12 months like i did.

can you take a pic of the seats?

I do agree not so keen on the wheels but still ok.
