Passat R36 Daytime Running Lights!!

Installing daytime running lights onto my R36 this weekend!
Hopefully with the rights instructions I'll get them installed good!!

i reckon these lights are a wanky fad which will hopefully burn out ( pun intended) .....

OK OK i guess they are kind of a safety feature.

My car has them but i cant work out how to turn them off!

Yes they can be dimmed when the low beams are on!

So...Are they true DRL's that have been coded via VCDS or do they just turn on with your parkers / low beams?

Please let me know the setup.

Because if you have activated the DRL's via VCDS, I would be keen to know what measuring block you used for this...

Hi, they are true DRL's, I didn't use VCDS, I followed the following instructions that were emailed to me... They work great, very happy with them!! I connected them with the ignition wire, so as soon as the car starts, they're on!

1 You will find three wires about the LED DRL, one is black, one is brown, another is grey.
2 For black wire, there are two connection methods:
a.To connect with the ignition wire. The LED DRLs will work as soon as the car start;
b.To connect with the fog lamp. It only begin to work when the fog lamp is turned on. It doesn't work yet even if the car start.
3 For brown wire, it can be only connected with earth wire.
4 For grey wire, it should be connected with low beam lamp. The LED DRLs will be at 100% on when the low beam lamp is off.
But its power and brightness will be reduced to 70% when the low beam lamp is on.

Passat R36 with DRL's!!! with photos!!









Took me about an hour to completely install and wire up.
