Scratched my wheel over the kerb

Scratched my new left rear wheel yesterday while exiting the hotel carpark in Canberra. It is about 6inches long. Had 7hours to vent my anger and frustration while driving back to Melbourne.
Does anyone know where I can have the wheel repaired in Melbourne? Cost? Someone mentioned there are two type sanding and respray or the worlks.

Dont fret too much. I did the same and hit huge create kerb a couple of weeks back at some roadworks. I put on the matching spare (good one VW ) then had it fixed by a company at the gold coast. It looks like brand new and was about $200 to get it done. Not sure about Melbourne however

Yup, have used these guys and have been happy. In my case it was a full re-finish on a set of 4 rims. They are responsive to email so you can send a photo and get a price estimate. They have a pickup and delivery service daily ($16 per wheel when I used them 12 months ago) and will dismount and remount your tyre if you prefer. Typical turn-around is within a week.

$200 bucks to fix a scratch I think I can get a new one for around that price. BTW this is the Audi Reps.

I did the same not that long ago, but luckily it was relatively minor. Depending on how fussy you are, you might want to consider getting it fixed before you sell your car as you are likely to do it again some time after spending $$ and then you have to do it all again.
I am worried I will experience scratching a bit over the next few years and am considering fitting some aftermarket rims in the same size so I can use the tyres, rather than spending money on repairs. When I'm ready to eventually sell the car I simply put the (unscratched) originals back on and sell the aftermarkets on ebay and get some money back. This could likely work out to less than $ 200 per wheel in the end and it doesn't matter how many times you scratch the aftermarkets...... Food for thought, good luck with whatever you end up doing.

I did the same not that long ago, but luckily it was relatively minor. Depending on how fussy you are, you might want to consider getting it fixed before you sell your car as you are likely to do it again some time after spending $$ and then you have to do it all again.

Thanks Rthirsty6. I'm just P'ed off cause they are new, <4weeks old. Scratches are bound to happen again as my missus, mum, senior inlaws uses the car from time to time. What can you say if they have collectively punctured 4 tyres, scratched the wheels and car in the last 3 years? Statistics is not on my side
I may end up living with them and start the ball rolling or may fix it if it is just $100.

I"ve used these guys to refinish a rim on my wife's CLK & you serriously can't tell the refished rim from the untouched ones...expensive buggers though!

If it's any consolation ( and I know it isn't!), I scrstched the crap out of my left rear last week & was really pissed off. Haven't decised yet to get it fixed or leave it at least to just beofre my tyre change is due.

$200 bucks to fix a scratch I think I can get a new one for around that price. BTW this is the Audi Reps.

I wish it was a scratch.... it was a remachine for the outer edge and fixing on the spokes..... it was a mess. Show me where i can buy a genuine rim for $200 and I will buy them, if for no other reason than to put them on my trailer to match

I would let it go...based on what you have described, this is just the begining. I understand if it is frustrating, but at the end of the day, fix it up when trade in/sale time comes around.

I followed V6Passat's words of wisdom - Let it go. Probability shows that there will be more to come.

The scratches are now well hidden with the brake dusts. Does not look that bad even after a wash although it still hurts

I've had the R36 almost 4 weeks now and have been super paranoid about scraping both the front lip and also my rims. So reversing out of a park at golf today my rimskin paid for itself on the front left. A close call.
