Picked up my new Passat 125Tdi wagon today, very happy, lovely car. I was fortunate enough to get the corporate plus discount, it made the purchase affordable. It's probably a little late to have misgivings but I'm just wondering who pays for this discount? Does VW Australia simply wear the reduced price? I got the deal pretty easily, because of who my employer is and because I'm eligible to salary sacrifice a vehicle, but other than that my employer would not be prepared to wear any costs. Can anyone shed some light?

Any discount under corporate plus is a genuine discount to the buyer however I believe it's like a tab which VWA pickup for & pay the dealer. As to why any discount is given because you work for xxx I've not quite understood (not that I'm complaining) but guess it may generate interest & loyal customers from
selected employers. The list of employers is quite extensive & I'm sure other makes offer something similiar.HAVE: '12 SUPERB ELEGANCE SEDAN 103kW 4x4 TDI DSG | LAVA BLUE | SUNROOF | KESSY | 3x BLINDS | PARK ASSIST | PADDLES | TINTS | NOKYA YELLOW FOGS | TOWPACK

Hi MikeeR - yep, agree with Jase, and would add that it is not just employers that qualify. You can also get it through professional associations. Also posted a more comprehensive response to this in an earlier thread... but I might be totally wrong! On order: MY10 125TDi Auto Highline Passat Wagon: Icelandic Grey; RVC; various protective coverings.
