  • R36 Meet Suggestion

    Hi everyone,

not sure if this is the right thread to do this but i'm suggesting if all the R36 owners in Melbourne want to do a small meet up soon?

Rather than chatting on the forums, why don't we have a gathering where we can look at each others cars and have a nice discussion in person?

    Location : Albert Park?
    Date: In 2-3 weeks time?
    Time: 8pm or later?

Put me down for it... But in 2 - 3 weeks time you'll probably find a lot of Albert Park closed off (if not all of it).

      Ah right...F1 Grand Prix.

Another location i can think of is Docklands where we can take some photos too.

                    Whooo.... Interesting !!!

The dates seems to be tentatively oK!

Can I also suggest Port Melbourne - Beacons Cove as a "C" venue! Large area for parking cars in a row (providing you get there early) and has coffee fix with a few cafes. I previously organised a GTG with the Golf GTI MKV group and it was pretty cool! Nice weather, parked together and plenty of admirers!

BTW, How come I can't upload photos? I wanted to upload a photo of the gathering to give you boys an idea of what I meant. Is it b/c I'm still a newbie and don't have enough rights??

Sounds like a good idea Ray.

However, as a few members mentioned to me, the Albert Park location might not be possible due to F1 being held there. Where's this place you are talking about? Can you paste a link to google maps?

                        Hey Ray,

You have to host your pics on another website such as photobucket, flickr etc then copy and paste the IMG link on your post on here.

                        Cheers,

                        Jayse.

p.s. you're location seems pretty good also.

9pm or 9am ? At 9pm on a Sat nite (or any night) i am a fair way into a bottle of good pinot

I prefer the AM option cos:
                          1. I am sober
                          2. It is light
                          3. We can actually see the cars
                          4. Better time for coffee

                          Either dates will suit

Heres a pretty cool location for a Sat morn (same place as my sig & r36 pics)

                            http://maps.google.com.au/maps?ie=UT...13937&t=h&z=17

Got the docks and the city as a backdrop, on the Maribrynong in Footscray so close to the city and plenty of space on Sat
