  • 20"s on a Passat?

alright i know ill probally get shot down for this but here goes,

im looking at getting new rims for my passat and have fallen in love with these

they come in 5x112 and everything but im just wondering, will they fit?
I've tried searching the forum but it doesnt look like anyone has done it yet.

I kinda realise also that the ride will be rubbish and everything, but not too worried about that

Half of the time spent on washing your car will just be cleaning those wheels.

cool looking wheels, HOWEVER you'll need a freakin SLAMMMED ride height to pull them off though. I'm talking tucking rim.

otherwise you'll have a 4wd Passat... OH so hot!

I can't seem to find the offset but the width is 8.5.
The model is a 2007 B6 Passat wagon

oh and golfman dont worry, always planning on slamming

20 x 8.5 sounds okay if the offset will allow it.
You really do need to find out the offset though as this is the limiting factor.

I would use the offset calculator once you know it to determine how much extra space your wheels will take up.
This will allow you to measure the distance in the wheel arch and determine if they will fit or not.

Alternatively, just look for other passat's with 20" wheels and see what offsets they are running without issue.
If yours matches, then go for it.

You will need to email /phone (better to phone) tempe and find out what offsets they offer for the 5x112 bolt pattern wheel then if you want to get them and make sure they fit.

oh ok thanks heaps for that, will do.

will they know straight up if they'll fit, or will i have to get there and try them.
will they let me try them before i commit to buying?

sorry kinda new to this whole thing

They won't know if the wheels will fit.
They will most likely tell you that they will in order to get the sale.

Just get the offset and put it into the offset calculator online and find out the extra space required.
Measure the gaps between the wheel face and the guard and the wheel backing and the strut tower and see if the gap is big enough for the new wheel.

You could always ask if they will let you try the wheels on the car to see if they fit before you buy.

Let us know how you go.

I would be careful with those wheels from tempe. Make sure you buy a decent tyre, no linlong, wanli, nankang crap as you will buckle your wheel before you know it and require a replacement as it wont be able to be repaired. Not to mention blowing out a tyre or causing other damage to the car...

Not my choice of wheels.. but as said, find offset. You'll notice the weight tho..
                            What’s behind you doesn’t matter..

                              offset should be 38.
