  • Breakdown set - standard equipment? R36

    Guys,

I've just got my R36 wagon back after the 1 year/15k service at the dealership (Sydney based).

As I was going through the car I noticed that there is no Breakdown Set in the tool compartment in the back. Just an empty space where it's meant to sit. Does anyone know if the breakdown set comes standard with the R36 wagon or is it an optional extra?

From reading the manual it sounds as if it's meant to be delivered as standard equipment. If that is the case then someone has removed it.

It would seriously piss me off if the service guys have taken it out and not put it back afterwards. For various reasons I'm already not happy with the service that they've provided. If it turns out they've now removed tools from my car that would seriously p-ss me off.

    Your input is much appreciated.

Yep mine has a tool set also, the only thing i was told that was hit a miss from VWA was the safety triangle. The CC's had them but the wagons didnt. The dealer tried to actually give me the one from the CC but it didnt fit the space provided in the wagon!!

Have you looked under the floor panel in the rear, on the left side? It's under a cover beside the spare tyre.

As for the triangles, yeah most cars have them, but a very small amount that lob in off the boat don't.

Yes, that's where I'm looking. I've got the rest of the tools still but someone has removed the breakdown set - there's just an empty space where it's meant to sit.

Best you go speak with the dealer about it, and see what they can do.
