OK... So some of you may know if you take out the standard parker and put in an LED parker, the light won't work. Why? Because the LED light draws WAY less power than the OEM bulb does so the smarts in the computer disable it. But I've finally managed to find some LED parkers that have a built in resistor. Under $30 delivered and considering LEDs should last longer than the car that price is fine by me.

Next on the list of ideas is LED running lights. The Audi A6/S6 retro fit looks to be the best looking option rather than any of those cheap generic options out there but has anyone seen the retrofit done to an R36? Seen a few MkV Golfs with it done (examples below) and it looks pretty good. Would just have to find someone willing to do it is all!

    Here's the lights themselves: http://oemplus.com/index.php?main_pa...roducts_id=451

    Thoughts?

DRL's on anything but audi's are tacky to say the least. They look great in pictures but are just plain foul in real life...

Do you have HID's on your R36 Rocket?

I have to agree with Golf Houso on the LED strips, but we better get used to incandescent bulbs for DRLs. They're going to be made mandatory in Europe from 2011 and I'm sure Australia will follow suit. I'm surprised we haven't already given the USA has had them for years.

I wouldn't mind some LED parkers though.

Saw one of those in person for the 1st time yesterday with the LED lights on. Man it looked tacky... kind of suited the rest of the E2 bodykit

Those LEDs an Audi look a lot more integrated and like they are supposed to be there. mmmmmm

Rocket, is the parker LEDs just a straightplug and play with no messing around with wirings?

I;m looking for a set for my car also!

              Cheers,

They look ok on the Merc's that come with them too, and the Golf R/Scirocco will have them too. Look a bit try hard on a holden though.

I'm talking about a retro-fit here, not an OEM placement. But yeah they don't look that great on the Holdens either.

I really like the way they look on the r32.
I am pretty young though...maybe it's a younger generations kinda thing. The older people seem to not like them. which is definatley fair enough. But then again i love the e2 maloo my uncle has.

I think you are spot on.. from my mind you are only one step away from a set of chromies and a underbody tint lighting kit

Its the one thing I hate on the Audi R8. IMHO it doesn't need the chintz factor to say "look at me"

Lol it's one of my favourite atteibutes to the audi r8. But yet again. Thats just my opinion. Is it expensive to do?
Might do it to mine in a year or two when i do the led retroffited tailights when they come to aus.

                              Haha does too.
Just for the record I'm not into major shiny rims, neons and stupidly loud exhausts. I'mquite conservative in this matter for my age...but I still love the led's.
