  • ? options in multi function display plus

    Hi guys,

I have 2 options not explained in my manual for the multifunction display plus, wondering if anyone has any info on it. they are both on the first menu of the mfd setup.

1 is travel & 2 is alt speed distance

the options for travel are on & off & the alt speed distance is just a tick to select it. Any idea what these options are exactly? thanks in advance.

Do you mean "Alt Speed DISPLAY"? Mine has that, and it adds a permanent digital readout to the MFD somewhere I think from memory...

if you tick the alt speed display it shows up mph where the temperature display normally is, temp moves up

When I got the car I asked whether you could make the alt speed display read in km/h but according to the manual and other members you cannot.

dunno what travel is - what MY is your car?

My alt speed is in kph. Pretty sure that's changable. Rode the motorbike to work today so don't have the manual handy but will double check the MFD settings when I get home.

MY09. It appears in the mfd settings menu where there is

                mfd data
                convenience
                lights & vision
                Language
                Units
                Auto Hold & then

                travel

                then

                service
                factory reset

rocket, am keen to know how you changed the alt speed display to kph as well. Same as pana's mine is also mph.

It's called the "Alternate" display because it shows the opposite to what is on the speedo - it's for when in Europe (kmh) for example you travel to the UK (that uses mph), so you can still have a speedo that works...

I believe that enabling the "Alt Speed Display" on Aus spec cars with speedos in KMH will only display in MPH. Unless Rocket36's car is special...

I've got two places I can see digital speed in kph.

I can't find reference in the manual to changing either to mph but both mine have always just been kph, not mph.

Weird. Maybe it is special! lol

That is strange Kris... see we knew you were special! I'll have a dig through VAGCOM at some point and see if it's changeable...

It's handy having it there as an "as well as". I.e. I can see it all the time digitally if I want to.
