There was no recall, just an internal technical bulletin.
If you're concerned about it, book the car in and have the dealership look at it.'07 Transporter 1.9 TDI

I had the handbrake fault, rang dealer and advised an 'updated' switch & software upgrade to suit, booked in on 18th Dec for the repairs.
It has been faulty for about 4 straight days but now but has now fixed itself. Mines a sept 2006 build 2.0T petrol.

Ah, thanks for the thread to remind me...
Mine had had problems with the park brake, where the button had been pressed but the brake not activated (but the light had switched to yellow), so at the last service I reported it and supposedly the switch was replaced.
Now it's even worse - playing up at least 3 times in the last 2 days alone... time to make another call...MY08 Passat 2.0 TDI Wagon
