    1. Golf MkVI setup. This has been done - http://translate.google.com/translat...ate.google.com

This ends up with the standard Golf display - fixed lines on the screen, this is a controller-less setup that the RNS510 sees as a Camera "Low" solution. Basically when then car is put into reverse the camera is activated via a signal off the reverse light, and the RNS510 sees that and switches to the video input. As the camera goes straight into the RNS510, the camera is an RGB output device.

    2. Passat CC setup - not been done yet as far as I know. This is what I am looking to try and do on mine. This involves using the badge / camera combination from the Passat CC. This outputs composite video to a separate controller device, which is CAN BUS connected to pick up reverse gear and steering wheel position. So far I have tracked down most of the wiring, a camera / badge combination, and a controller unit. When it all arrives over the next few weeks I'll be able to start testing.

Now, the Passat wagon... The Passat wagons that come with RVC have a similar setup to the Passat CC, except that I don't believe they have the tilting badge? Perhaps someone with a wagon with RVC - apom? - can confirm this? I think they may have the camera device near the number plate. Other than that the setup I believe is similar to the CCs camera > controller > RNS510. It should be retro-fittable... although the wiring is going to be the biggest challenge, same as on the sedan.

Anyway, I'll keep you posted on how mine comes together over the next few weeks...!
im happy with the Golf solution....

Can confirm the camera device is next to the number plate.

On doing more digging, not sure that it is going to be that simple for a Passat wagon. The Golf VI has a camera in the badge (whilst you can buy the badge / camera assembly together, the camera is also available on its own), and apparently that camera is slightly smaller in size than the camera that comes in the Passat wagon.

To go controller-less a la Golf VI, the camera has to be RGB. Only the Golf camera outputs RGB, and that won't natively fit in the wagon's camera spot...

The camera that fits the Passat wagon outputs composite video (apparently) and requires a controller. So, you may have no choice but to go the second untrodden path if you want an OEM RVC...

The factory camera on the wagon is just under the lip of the tailgate above the number plate in the same horizontal recessed section near the rear tailgate release.

On the version of software I have there camera comes on when the reverse is selected automatically. when in reverse is does not provide a visual overlay of the parking sensors in my version. I think this has been upgrade since however. Anyone with an MY10 wagon and reverse camera know? It should only be a software upgrade

Unlike the sedan, the VW badge does not move.

I am waiting on a OEM solution to a R36 Wagon that arrived without an RVC despite being ordered. The dealer has apparently sourced the parts (not delivered yet) and is trying to find someone with the experience to do the job. I suspect it could be a few more weeks yet because I want it done properly - Volkswagen parts, camera above the rego plate and "guidance lines" on the RNS-510. When I know the exact when and how I will post all of the details. Fingers crossed.

Gotta love the way that happens...

The job on a wagon in theory shouldn't be that hard. Keep us posted on details though please...
