Was your car one especially built for you or an already factory built one that happened to match your specs
You know you are getting old when you cancel your order for a 3.6 CC and buy an Icelandic Gray TDI CC instead.

I picked mine up this morning from the dealer in Mentone.

I was dissapointed as the accelerator pedal has a large scratch on it across the face of it, not sure if I should insist on new pedal or let it go as it is after all just the pedal.

Also the car had 31kms on it which seemed high (my GTI had 11km) but other than that no problems....other than I had to go to work and watch my wife drive of in it!

just to revive the whole RVC thing, Ive got confirmation that the RVC retrofit i am getting is not like the one maverick had, and does not use the controller from Kufatec. I have received emails from them confirming this.

If its not ill send it back.

im assuming that maverick had this http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/newf...ghlight=camera that is NOT what im getting apparently.. lets wait and see its in transit.

Correct, that is what he had and what he had issues with. If you are getting the Passat CC camera kit from Kufatec then I am interested to see how you go about fitting it, as I'd like to do that in mine one day. Can you please let me know when you get it, or are you getting it fitted so you won't actually see the kit? I'd love part numbers from all the pieces, and plugs, and if they send you an instructions PDF on fitting it that would be priceless.

                    Yours is a wagon right?

Welcome to the forum mate, I actually really like the wheels on black, much better than on the white one. They stand out much more.

swallowtail, you were 100% correct, just received an email from Kufatec confirming the RVC that i have ordered and paid for is not OEM it DOES use the Kufatec box.f*CK

They have offered a refund however i still want a solution...

Will the rear badge camera fit the wagon...

There are two options for retro-fitting VW OEM cameras to Passat sedans (come back to the wagon in a minute):

                                1. Golf MkVI setup. This has been done - http://translate.google.com/translat...ate.google.com

This ends up with the standard Golf display - fixed lines on the screen, this is a controller-less setup that the RNS510 sees as a Camera "Low" solution. Basically when then car is put into reverse the camera is activated via a signal off the reverse light, and the RNS510 sees that and switches to the video input. As the camera goes straight into the RNS510, the camera is an RGB output device.

                                2. Passat CC setup - not been done yet as far as I know. This is what I am looking to try and do on mine. This involves using the badge / camera combination from the Passat CC. This outputs composite video to a separate controller device, which is CAN BUS connected to pick up reverse gear and steering wheel position. So far I have tracked down most of the wiring, a camera / badge combination, and a controller unit. When it all arrives over the next few weeks I'll be able to start testing.

Now, the Passat wagon... The Passat wagons that come with RVC have a similar setup to the Passat CC, except that I don't believe they have the tilting badge? Perhaps someone with a wagon with RVC - apom? - can confirm this? I think they may have the camera device near the number plate. Other than that the setup I believe is similar to the CCs camera > controller > RNS510. It should be retro-fittable... although the wiring is going to be the biggest challenge, same as on the sedan.

Anyway, I'll keep you posted on how mine comes together over the next few weeks...!
