Suspension noise

Hi

I have a noise almost like the front springs are still settling. Not a knocking but like a metal on metal rubbing noise.

It occurs only at low speed, possibly at high speed but I can't hear it.

Has anyone else had a similar problem?

The car is a R36 Passat Wagon.

How many Ks has your car done? Does it happen on flat roads as well or just bumpy roads?

take it back to the dealer...

With 700kms, yes definitely take it back to the dealer and let them have a listen to the noises.

Could be the springs moving slightly in the spring seats.

The other thing it could be, is the rubber strut top bearings being dry. I usually drop the front struts out, and give the strut top bearings a liberal coating of silicone spray to rectify it.

Or, they've left the spring spacers in.
