                        Model: R36 sedan.

                        Fuel: Unknown 98.
                        Consumption: 10.6 L/100km

All city driving so far. Only 210 km on the clock though. Petrol gauge is a little above half way. When delivered the car had 29km on the clock - obviously someone had joyrided etc. and petrol wasn't totally full. Consumption at that point was showing 13.8 L/100km and has been steadily decreasing since I've been driving. Has been as low as 10.1 L/100km.

I think you need another parameter...

Aircon use: 10% of time in car. Mostly off.

Aircon doesn't really use up much of your petrol. To be honest, i've driven at with air con switched on 99% of the time i had my car LOL.

Great write up guys, everyone else, please share with us your consumption.

                          Cheers

My experience has been that aircon increases fuel consumption by at least 1L /100km.

Try driving a tank with it off and you can see for yourself.

aircon off or on? always on auto I say, you guys with TDI's may have bought for economy and may wish to improve it by switching it off, but I certainly didn't buy an R36 for economy

average for 22,000 km? 11.8 L/100km (as per the MFD - not always exact)pretty good for a car that can keep up with V8 Falcodores... most of that is round very hilly town near my place, the occasional freeway run etc.

how many Km per tank?? silly comparison if you ask me, all depends when you fill up, was there 4 litres left, 10 litres left? 1 litre??? did you fill it so you could see the fuel in the filler neck??? or did you stop after one click?? too many variables.

The only way to accurately measure fuel usage is over a long period of time (say 5000km) using total distance travelled and total fuel used. of all my cars that have an average fuel consumption readout, all have been inaccurate. the worst being a subaru outback(about 13% out). I have not checked the R36 for accuracy as once again I didn't buy it for its economy! but I did buy it for its performance

                              rant over...
