Got a quote today for a 3 year extended new car warranty for my MY07 TDI Passat sedan: $1650 from VW dealer in Belconnen ACT.
The original warranty expires in May.

Considering a replacement DSG would cost $20,000 plus (so I have read elsewhere) it would be money well spent I imagine. Plus those boys provide great service (in my experience).

Perhaps one of the sponsor dealers might consider a bulk buy for forum members I'd probably jump at a fair price....

You should be able to do better with Jamil at Denlo - he should be able to beat that price easily. It is worth giving him a call.

2 year vw to a third year?

any issues in the third year go to the delaer and show them your special paperwork?

No - standard warranty is 3 yrs. The extended factory warranty extends it for a further 3 yrs or 160000kms which ever comes first.

Price of R36 Extended Warrany

Just wondering if anyone has current pricing for the new car warrany extension from VW for a R36. Also details of any dealers who can provide discounts on this.

I was just quoted about $2700 from Werribee... And they reckon that was brought down from $3200...

Yep, price has gone up heaps in the last 12 months. Got my EW last month for $2200, best quote from a high of $3500. The guy who wants it for $995 is dreaming in today's market.
But essential I believe given the complexity in the car and the cost of repair for DSG and injectors.

That would be because he posted in Feb 2010 - even then, $995 as an individual purchase (ie: not bundled with a new car) would have been impossible.

That's probably because of the insurers pricing in the risk based on reliability...
