R36 vs R32 quality...im a little dissappointed

went to a VW dealer yesterday hoping to get an R32 but was told they are now discontinued...??? (i didnt know this)
Also the car I was hoping for would be 3 door with recaros seats (as i saw them on road before and want one), but I now have found out that they were special order only and no longer available
so i had a look at an R32 5 door instead, man...was i a little dissapointed.
maybe im just expecting a little too much, but the interior is nowhere as nice as R36's. the seats, wheel, trim, feel, just all feel plasticy.
The only nice thing was how it drive and sound, so no sale, wasnt prepared to fork out 66k for something i didnt want.
may have to look for a second hand one now.....

I know what you mean...been hanging out for a HG 350 Monaro...but GMH just won't build 'em anymore. Damn shame.

yeah, apparently they are bringing out an R20, the dude at dealership told me it will be a twin turbo set up????? on a 2ltr block????

Ron, don't take for gospel what dealers tell you some of them have know idea and sometimes we know more about the cars than they do. Eg Mazda 3 MPS dealer where saying allwheel drive, and its not. I can't see VW bringing out a quicker car than than Audi equivalent S3, talk is it will be samilair to the audi s3 with a little more tweaks to get it to the mid to low fives so twin turbo would probably push it under 5.

Check this, the same dude told me....(after i told him if I cant get an R32 i want i will go back to my contact who is an Audi MD for an S3)....that VW owns Audi, Lambo, BMW and Merc......WTF???? I so wanted to tell him to go n get fcked but i did not want to be rude. Also the helpdesk girl was nice so i didnt want to cause a scene : D

He's probably right I know VW definately own Audi and many other companies, also the Bugatti Veron is made by VW. It's like Kenworth trucks Peterbilt, DAF and Leyland are all owned by the same company.
