I think part of the problem is the duopoly. If you live in Brisbane, we only have those 2 places to service if you want to stick to VW specialist centres.
What about Norris VW at Kedron? Don't discount the Ipswich dealer either.

I've been very happy with the service (both sales and service) at Highway. After dealing with Austral it's a pleasure to deal with them, maybe part of it is that they're family owned?

BTW. if you signed a contract for finance, they may not let you out of it! If you signed a contract subject to finance, then you can use anyone you like.... or whoever they can get if you can't get you own.
Agree and Dealer is in line with this. Just got to get it from the port to the dealer. My younger brother knows some of the guys at Patricks, so we will see how well he knows them!!

One of my cousins takes his R36 there and it has been a good experience. As i live on the North side i will use them in the first instance. Any one used them?

Understand. Trust me i was nearly at the point of walking and the contract was not subject to finance. I was happy for them to try and exercise their right to enforce the contract. At the end of the day, that is not how business should be conducted.

Depending on where you are on the Northside, Northstar up at Redcliffe might be better for you too, opened up at the same time as Kedron.
            Cheers,

Out of courtesy for the sales team, i would rather not deny or confirm. Purpose for sharing was two fold 1) Dealer Finance is BS (in my experience) and 2) tell you how good BMW finance is. ohhh, and vent. My wife doesnt care too much for all these minor inconveniences.

Thanks...I am 8kms from the CBD so Kedron will get a crack first. At the end of the day, i can work anywhere any time as long as I have Next G coverage, so if i have to sit in a service room for half a day so be it. I will go where the service is best for me.

I bought from Ipswich after Newstead fell through, they Sales Manager their is the best new car sales guy I have used in my entire life. I would recommend anyone to him.

Sadly, the service department is the exact opposite. I have had my car by 4 times, (and the 5th tomorrow) to fix tiny little issues, They just cant get it right. Last time they had it 4 days to fit a towbar, tint the windows (that took them 2 attempts) and to fix a speak in the door that was there from new.

Tomorrow I have to go back to get the VAGCOM bit done for the towbar/rear sensors!

Sadly with my corporate deal the price included 45K servicing so I either go their (for free) or pay to go somewhere else)

5th time lucky, actually got to speak to the technician himself. Fixed the RNS510/Sensors to ensure when the trailer is attached you get the picture on the main screen and the rear sensors are disabled. Took all of 30 minutes

No luck (of course) on the V2660 upgrade to the firmware. He said they are usually the last to know and the support from VWA is pretty average most of the time.

So... do i chance the upgrade myself (actually with Swallowtail) or leave it as is?

Woo-hoo - you now have the trailer pic on your OPS! THe stories of people bricking their units doing the upgrade are where they've bought them secondhand off ebay. The consensus appears to be that they are stolen units that have been cracked / hacked to work after having been stolen. You should be fine, but it's your call. THe main advantage is the voice control it gives you, along with some nice to haves. But unless you have a Bluetooth setup it's not going to do much for you anyway...

i used them once and got pi**ed with all the paperwork and formalities. sounds like they've improved if all you do is sign once as you pick up the car!

Is this a factory fix for the trailer problem? How did they do it? Firmware??About to get car serviced for 15,000km and need some ammo to get them to fix it. Have asked them about it when I first bought the car and got no reply!
