  • Sat Nav Problem No. 2 - Dyslexia

It seems my Sat Nav lady needs to go back to friggin school! about 50% of time when existing a main road she says "Exit Right" when the Exit is left

    The map shows correct however.

    Anyone else having this issue?

It would also be nice is she spoke the names, and I am not sure why she can, she announces the Route number! Anyone been able to do an update to the standard GPS yet?

Yeah - have never ever heard of the main roads around melbourne having the code S18, S14 etc so not sure where Sensis/VW got that from...

Exit right is actually CORRECT! You take the exit and turn right.... Think about it.

That's only accurate if coming off a freeway with a left-hand exit, then needing to turn right (eg Monash Fwy southbound, getting off at Narre Warren Road, then turning right to head towards Narre South and Cranbourne).

Bit different if on a normal arterial/highway, (eg Princes Hwy, southbound, and trying to turn right onto Murrumbeena Road...)...

Well if you're turning right then you're turning right. Not exiting.

                This eaxmple is fairly unique.

It has both an exit lane (off the highway) and a right hand turn lane. I suspect there may be some sort of default in the SatNav in that it will say to take the exit to the left when there is one and then turn right.

nope, you missing the point Rocket... for example..

Coming back from the Gold Coast last night on the M1 the Logan Motorway exits on the left hand side and keeps going left for the next 20km. The woman said exit right.

30 minutes i was only Moggil Road and it said Turn Left, when I actually had to turn Right as shown on the map on the screen .

what about trying to reload the nav disk? data might have got corrupted or you may even have an earlier version on the H/drive?
