  • Changing the number of flashes for lane change

I can't find it in the manual & can't seem to work it out intuitively but I remember reading on here that one of you have worked out how to customise the number of indicator light flashes for lane changing.

I have a MY09 (white MFD) R36 & like using the 'lane change' feature but 3 flashes IMHO just isn't enough...I'd like to take it up to at least 5 or so.

    Any ideas?

I think the option was off, 3 or 6 flashes, from memory. I think you need to go into convenience menu and scroll through that. Unfortunately, I am not in a position to check at the mo'.

You get used to it, I find 3 flashes plenty to change lane, anyway in melbourne, too much notice and someone will surely speed up to close your gap.
        currrently... MY10 GTI | DSG | Candy White | Sunroof | 18's | BT | MDI
previously... MY08 GT TDI | DSG | Reflex Silver | Sunroof

Steve, old habits die hard...I use to be a driving instructor (part time on weekends) a looooong time ago & "studies show" (don't you love that throw away line - although it's true in this case) that 3 flashes is about the minimum notification you need to give for a 'safe' lane transition before you start moving into another lane let alone another few flashes as you're transitioning...it's true, I'm not pulling your leg!
